Everest North Col Expedition

  • 34 Days
  • 2-15
  • Mt. Everest Region

For individuals planning a future ascent of Mt. Everest, the Everest North Col Expedition is an excellent training climb. Mt. Everest's Tibetan side has a long and illustrious history dating back over 90 years. Strict walking and easy/moderate climbing with climbers linked to fixed ropes are the best ways to characterize the climbing. The dates we've picked coincide with the peak climbing season for Everest in the spring. Climbing to the North Col might help you qualify for Everest.

The caravan path to base camp is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Tibet has some of the world's most beautiful cross-country driving. As you are escorted directly to base camp, you may kick back in the vehicle, relax, and snap photos. You'll pass via Nyalam, Thang La (5,200m), and Xegar on the overland route (4,300m). LhakpaRi is a pyramidal hiking peak on the East Rongbuk Glacier across from Everest, about the same height as the North Col.

Program ( 34 Days )

When you arrive in Kathmandu, our Creative Adventure Nepal agent will greet you at the arrival terminal and help you check in to your accommodation. You can rest or explore the bustling streets of Kathmandu.

On this day, we will help you prepare packing your gears and other essentials for your Everest North Col expedition. Also, you can shop around for some essentials in Thamel.

The next day, we will have an orientation session with other climbers and Expedition staff. Then, we prepare your Tibet visa and other essential documents for the Everest Expedition.

After that, we will take you to the Nepal-Tibet border via the Arnico Highway to the Friendship Bridge, where we will be met by a Chinese liaison officer and Chinese vehicle. While the adventure gear is transported by truck, we journey by land. We spend one night in Zhangmu to acclimate.

Today after breakfast, we drive up to Nylam from Zhangmu. You can sit back and enjoy the scenic landscape and clear blue skies. Overnight stay in hotel.

It is essential for our body to get used to the climate and elevation gain. Hence we stay one more day in Nylam for acclimatization. You can rest and go sightseeing around Nylam.

On this day, we drive towards Tingri town, which takes about three hours. Overnight stay in camp or hotel.

We rest one day to acclimatize our bodies in Tingri town. This step is crucial to preparing for your Everest North Col expedition.

After a restful day, we drive towards Chinese Base Camp, located in 5400m. The drive from Tingri town to Chinese Base Camp is about four hours. Overnight stay at the camp.

We stay at the Chinese Base Camp to acclimatize our bodies on days ten and eleven. Since we are at an elevation above 5000m, it is essential for us to take it slow. It helps our body prepare for higher elevation gain and protects it from altitude sickness.

We begin our trek from Chinese Base Camp to Middle Camp on this day. The middle camp is located at an elevation of 5700m. With the help of porters and yaks, you don’t have to burden yourself with carrying the load.

After eating a delicious breakfast, we begin our trek from Middle Camp to Advance Base Camp. The advanced base camp is at an elevation of 6400m. A load of carrying our stuff gets easier with the help of Yaks.

The path runs from Advance Base Camp to the east Rongbuk (Everest Base) glacier, then up an easy snow slope to the North Col at 7070 meters. You only have a permit for the North Col, which is known as the Everest North Col Expedition.

We want to do one longer acclimatization trip up the mountain and perhaps another journey up to North Col. Before attempting the summit, we will return to Base Camp to rest. In one or two groups, we peak as a team. Solo summit efforts, in general, are not practicable without a large amount of assistance.

After a successful summit, we begin climbing down from advanced base camp to the Chinese base camp.

Our jeep will pick you up from the base camp and drive you back to Zhangmu.

Make sure you have all your documents ready while crossing the border exit. It is very important to have your documents with you. After fulfilling all the necessities at the border, we drive back to Kathmandu.

We’re almost at the end of our trip. You can relax and enjoy the life of Kathmandu. We can also guide you and take you on various tours in Kathmandu.

After your successful Everest North Col expedition, our Creative Adventure Nepal representative will take you to the airport and drop you off at the departure terminal.
