Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Overland

  • 14 Days
  • Mt. Kailash

Mount Kailash (6714m) is a cultivated holy peak in western Tibet. Mt. Kailash has long been a shrine for four main religions. It is Shiva's domain, according to Hindus. It is the home of Samvara, a multiarmed, wrathful god worshipped in the chakrasamvara Tantric cycle, according to Tibetan Buddhists.

The Indian joins also claim the mountain as the location of the first of their saints' salvation. In the ancient Tibetan Bon faith, Kailash was the sacred nine-story Swastika Mountain, where the Banpo founder Shenrab alighted from the refuge. The 53-kilometer Kailash circle is the holiest of all Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimages and the beacon that pulls most visitors to western Tibet. It is stated that a single Parikarma erases a lifetime's worth of sins, while 108cicurmbulation results in Salvation.

Lake Mansarovar is the sacred lake Mansarovar (4580m) that sprawls underneath Mount Kailash, where a ceremonial bath will transport a pilgrim to Brahm's heaven, and a drink of its water will wash away the sins of a hundred lifetimes.
