Humla to Simikot Area Trek

  • 12 Days
  • Humla District

Humla District is situated in the Far western region of Nepal in the Karnali zone, and Simikot is the headquarters. This is one of the biggest districts in Nepal and covers an area of 5,655 km². Humla to simikot Area Trek is a suited package.

Jumla and Rara lie northwest of Kathmandu in the remote area of Karnali. The route is very much ‘off the beaten track and affords glimpses of cultures and scenery very different from the rest of Nepal. The clear, high-altitude lake is ringed with pine, spruce, and juniper forests and mirrors snowcapped Himalayan peaks. In summer, rainfall is low, ideal for trekking. In the winter, snow is often on the ridge surrounding the lake, but in the autumn, you can see a profusion of alpine flowers. Humla to simikot Area Trek can be considered the best destination. Except for the army assigned to the park, nobody had lived at the lake since the government resettled the people of Rara and Chapra when the area was declared a national park.

If you are looking for solitude in the wilderness and can overcome the logistical complications of the region, Humla to simikot Area Trek is a good choice.
